Gabungan 2 Cahaya

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim.
Allahumma solli 'ala sayidina Muhammad wa 'ala alihi.

Firman Allah ta'ala:

~Surah Ar-Rahman.

Sabda Rasulullah sollahu 'alaihi wasallam:

Ya Allah berkati buat kami,Syam kami,
Ya Allah berkati buat kami, yaman kami.

-Riwayat Imam Bukhari.

****************************************

Beberapa Nasihat Habib Umar bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafiz -HafizahuLLAH- di Masjid Al-Azhar Al-Syarif 16-10-2011...

Abdullah Ibn Mubarak -RadhiyaAllahu Taala 'anhu- menyebutkan:

Wallahu 'alam.

First Day of the Dowra

Bismillah

As-salamu alaykum

The following note was made available by Ustadh Amin Buxton (Allah preserve him and his teachers) from Tarim.

Habib `Umar’s Advice on the First Day of the Dowra

On the first morning of the Dowra (1st Sha`ban 1432/2nd July 2011) the students assembled in Musalla Ahl al-Kisa’ in Dar al-Mustafa before Fajr to read the adhkar. Habib `Umar bin Hafiz then led the Fajr

prayer and the students came to shake his hand and each other’s hands while reading the adhkar.

He then spoke. He mentioned the actions that had just been performed – coming together to remember Allah before Fajr, hoping to be among those that Allah mentions: those that call upon their Lord in hope and fear and those who seek forgiveness in the last portion of the night; praying Fajr in congregation; reading the adhkar after that. He said that we perform these actions firstly for our own benefit, attempting to give to Allah what is due to Him, attempting to purify our hearts and illuminate them, attempting to make firm in our hearts praiseworthy qualities. We do so in a state of humility, pleading with Allah that he blesses us with sincerity. Beyond that, however, we should be aware that we are representatives of our families, our friends, the people of the cities from which we have come and of our Muslim brothers wherever they are in the World. This is according to the extent of our intention and our relationship with Allah. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) taught us that if one Muslim gives refuge to a non-Muslim, it is as if every Muslim has given him refuge. Thus the action of one Muslim is inextricably linked to the actions of all Muslims. So if one Muslim makes du`a or turns himself to Allah this has an effect on every Muslim.

It has been narrated in a hadith qudsi that Allah says: “I consider sending My punishment down upon a town but when I see the inhabitants of My houses (mosques), those that love each other for My sake and those that seek My forgiveness in the last portion of the night, I direct My punishment away from them.” It has also been narrated that if someone weeps out of fear of Allah, Allah will show mercy to his people through him. Thus through the fear and humility of a few individuals Allah shows mercy to the whole Ummah.

We have just shaken each others’ hands after Fajr. In doing so you can see yourself as an individual shaking the hand of another individual, a member of the Ummah of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). In doing this one hundred portions of mercy will be divided between you and your sins will be forgiven before you let go of each other’s hands along with other benefits. However, if you are aware of being a representative of the whole Ummah, that handshake will have an effect on the whole Ummah. The Ummah is in dire need of those that ask Allah to show it mercy and this handshake will cause mercy to descend and remove the rancor that the Muslims hold in their hearts for each other. It will be as if in this one handshake every member of the Ummah shakes the hand of every other member.

In the lessons that you will be taking we look first of all to ourselves. This knowledge which you will receive should firstly benefit you. This knowledge is pure light and it is expressed in the form of fearful awareness of Allah. In fact any knowledge which can be called beneficial according to the criteria of the Qur’an and the Sunnah must be accompanied by fearful awareness of Allah: the only ones who truly fear Allah from amongst His slaves are the possessors of knowledge. Beyond that if you should realize that you are receiving this knowledge and acting upon it to benefit your family and community and country and the whole Ummah.

In all that we do we are following in the footsteps of our guide the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). We are planting seeds and laying bricks which will contribute to the strengthening the ties of love and brotherhood in the Ummah. We hope to attain the reality of the following verse:

The Believers, men and women, are protecting friends, one of another: they enjoin what is good, and forbid what is evil: they establish the prayer, practice regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His Mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise.

May Allah give us a great portion of His mercy. May He bless us in our days and nights and give us the ability to truly seek Him. Help us to abase ourselves to Him so that He sends upon us the rain clouds of His bounty.

Allahumma amin.

Bismillah
As-salamu alaykum.

Sayyid al-Habib Umar was asked after one of his internet lessons (lesson 31):

How can we attain these high stations which you mention in the lesson? They are beyond the likes of us.”

He said, may Allah preserve him:

Allah has made these states attainable to those He wishes. They are not the preserve of the strong or the weak, nor those who are near or those who are far, nor those who have status in society or those who do not. They are for those who have taken the means to attaining them and turned themselves sincerely to Allah, those for whom Allah has decreed felicity.”

He mentioned a number of means to attain them:

  • by completely repenting from wrongdoings large and small, inward and outward, obeying the command of Allah:

Leave outward and inward sins;

  • by loving Allah and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, and his household and Companions and loving the generality of the believers and the elite specifically.
  • by establishing a connection to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him , through the Shaykhs who constitute an unbroken chain of connection to him;
  • by keeping the company of the pious. If this is not physically possible then through reading their books and reading about their lives and states or listening to their talks on the internet or by any other means;
  • by perfecting your performance of that which Allah has ordered us to do and by perfecting your leaving of that which Allah has prohibited inwardly and outwardly, then by performing supererogatory acts of worship in abundance and avoiding that which is disliked and dubious and making a pious intention in performing acts that are merely permissible.
  • by striving to remember Allah constantly;
  • by taking a shaykh who can guide you to that which rectifies you;

Whoever is sincere in following this path and strives to purify his heart from blameworthy traits which are displeasing to Allah will attain the portion which has been decreed for them of these lofty states.

The only people that are deprived from attaining them are: those that deny their existence; those that make no attempt to attain them; those who falsely claim to have attained them; those who persist in showing enmity to those who have attained these states; those who persistently harm the Muslims or those who are content to possess an attribute which Allah hates and make no attempt to remove it.

The sign of someone attaining these stations is an increase in etiquette (adab) and humility. Such a person does not claim to have attained anything and does not attribute what he has attained to himself but rather he increases in humility, love, worship and focus on his path to Allah.”

And Allah Most High knows best.

Wasiat Rabi' Al-Thani

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar- Rahim.
Allahumma solli 'ala sayyidina Muhammad wa 'alihi.

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

We pray that this message finds you and your loved ones well, enveloped in Allah's mercy and traveling the path to felicity, in sha Allah.

The following is taken from Sayyidi Habib `Umar bin Hafiz’s Monthly Word for this month, Rabi` al-Thani 1432. It has been shortened and edited by Ustadh Amin Buxton (Allah preserve him and his teachers). You can read the full Arabic text at www.alhabibomar.com:

“Having bid farewell to the month in which our Prophet was born we should focus in this month on emulating him particularly in the area of looking after the poor and weak amongst us. This is his Sunna and his way (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family). The Ummah needs to work on this. Those who are financially able should support those in need. If this is neglected we fall prey to the enemy of Allah Iblis and his forces who exploit our weaknesses. One of his methods is to make the poor and needy envious of the wealthy.

Thus we need to look to the needs of individuals, to the needs of our relatives and neighbours, to the needs of families and communities and also those outside our communities. We should expend what we are able – whether it be du`a or financial support, giving a gift, paying a visit or any other kind of assistance. This will in turn strengthen our connection with our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), as this is the way of mercy and compassion which he called us to.”

Note: our teachers advise us to give even a small portion of charity every day. It is better that this be early in the day as charity prevents tribulation from descending.

A further reminder:

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, encouraged his Companions to fast three days in every month and informed them that in doing so they would be rewarded for fasting the whole year. He said, Allah bless him and grant him peace: The one who prays the Duha (midmorning) prayer, fasts three days in every month and does not leave the Witr prayer whether he is resident or travelling will have the reward of a shahid.”

In it there is purification of the heart and other benefits. He also encouraged them to fast the three “White Days” meaning the days which follow nights in which the moon is full, namely the 13th, 14th and 15th days of each lunar month. Sayyidi al-Habib `Umar encourages his students in Dar al-Mustafa to combine these two sunnahs and fast the three “White Days” of every month.

Surat Rabi'ul Awal 1432

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh

The following is taken from Sayyidi Habib `Umar bin Hafiz’s Monthly Word for this month, Rabi` al-Awwal 1432., as translated by Ustadh Amin Buxton (Allah preserve and increase him and his teachers). It has been shortened and edited. You can read the full Arabic text at www.alhabibomar.com

All praise be to Allah. May the blessings and peace of Allah be upon His slave Muhammad, the Chosen One, whose birth he decreed to be in Rabi` al-Awwal, and thus his brilliant light came forth. O Allah send peace and blessings upon Your slave by whom You illuminated people’s hearts and purified them from sins and faults and by whom You brought us out from the darkness of disbelief to the light of Islam and Iman. Send peace and blessings also upon his pure family and noble Companions and all those that love him and us along with them.

We send greetings of peace to our beloved brethren and all those reading these words from the people of la ilaha ill’Allah Muhammad Rasul Allah.

In this month let us focus on the submission our hearts, such that we attain absolute following of the Messenger of Allah. We must analyse very closely the degree to which we have surrendered the reins to the one our Creator chose for us as an Imam, as a guide and as an example (peace and blessings be upon him). In this is complete protection for us from doing anything which leads to evil or from falling prey to our enemies and complete protection from causing harm to ourselves in this life or the next. Man by his very nature does not know the reality of things. As Allah says: Allah knows and you do not know. Time and time again we see people of this Ummah acting hoping to bring about benefit and rectification when in fact they bring about harm and corruption.

We are in a time in which the Muslims are witnessing rapid changes in many places. This may surprise us, but it is really a feature of this time, in which one event leads rapidly to another. This is all part of the wisdom of Allah Exalted.

We can only fulfil our duty in this time through this submission that we have mentioned and by referring back to those who are connected to him (peace and blessings be upon him). Often these popular movements end up benefiting or strengthening those who plot to deflect people from the straight path. We hear, for example, that some people have been exerting efforts to remove those in power in their country. Do they have someone to replace those they wish to remove who is able to govern in a manner which is pleasing to Allah? If not this movement may then be the cause of the replacement of one tyrant or one corrupt person with another, thus serving the interests of the enemies of Islam.

At the same time amongst all these changes we have seen great good taking place: people respecting the rights of others and protecting the property of others. This is clearly good and does not benefit the enemy or anyone seeking power over the slaves of Allah.

Let us only direct our efforts to that which does not lead to harm to ourselves or to anyone else. In doing so we seek refuge in the One Who is in complete control of all our affairs. The failure to return to Allah is the cause of the harm which we see. Someone who seeks refuge with a created being, with a party or a group is like someone who seeks safety from the heat of the earth by throwing himself in the fire. Where is the search for refuge in Allah? Where is the return to the One Who is in complete control of all our affairs that He may rectify them? That return is expressed in our direction, in our intention, in our acting according to the Sacred Law and in our taking the means with clarity in following the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him).

O Allah with the coming of this noble month we ask You to ennoble us and make clear to all the Straight Path. Increase the hearts of the Ummah in attachment to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), such that we follow him in our speech, actions, aims and intentions. O Allah save the Ummah from tribulations that are manifest and hidden. To You belongs all praise at the beginning and at the end. You are in complete control of every affair and from You we seek assistance and upon You we rely and there is no strength or power save in Allah the Sublime the Formidable. All praise is due to Allah Lord of the Worlds.

Please include us in your prayers

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim.
Allahumma solli 'ala sayyidina Muhammad wa 'alihi
.

Here are also a couple of questions that Habib answered in the lesson:

1)Someone complained about being weak in their wayfaring and seeking of Allah.

Habib `Umar said:

“Even if you yourself are weak then have strong determination and ambition and seek strength from the All-Powerful for then your weakness will be transformed into strength. Take strength from being broken for His sake for He says: ‘I am with the ones whose hearts are broken for My sake.’ Your feeling of weakness should not drive you to despair, rather it should be a means of truly submitting to Allah which pushes you to truly seek Him.”

2)Someone asked: “How can one rid oneself of having a bad opinion of others?”

Habib `Umar said:

“Learn to revere the knowledge of Allah, which encompasses everything. Know that Allah knows and you do not know. If someone claims to be certain about an assumption he has made he is claiming to have knowledge. However if he knows that Allah possesses all knowledge and has hidden knowledge of many things from him in order that he has awe of Him he will be ashamed to have certain belief in his own assumptions. Only He knows what our ending will be. Allah ordered us to have a good opinion of His slaves and warned us against disobeying Him by having a bad opinion of them.
He says:O you who believe avoid much suspicion, for suspicion in some cases is a sin. So we should obey Him and be in a state of shyness in front of His knowledge.”

And Allah Most High knows best.

End of Year/New Year Message

The following is summarized from a talk given by Habib Umar bin Hafiz (Allah preserve him):[1]

We bid farewell to another year of the Hijra of the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, a year which contains a number of days and nights which are what makes up your lifespan. If a day passes then a part of you has passed. You are but a body and spirit existent in a limited time period. When that period comes to an end you come to an end. It is only those of sound intellect who realize the true value of these days and nights that pass. They know that it is He Who made the Night and the Day to follow each other: for the one who wishes to reflect or to show gratitude.[2]

Whatever anyone has achieved throughout the days and nights that has not increased them in reflection and gratitude has missed the purpose and fundamental wisdom for which these days and nights were created and for which mankind was created.

We witness the passing of time and the alternation of seasons and changes and events. Things which are agreeable to us; things which are unpleasant – all of which test us. We witness the passing away of those who live alongside us, some of it expected, some of it unexpected. All of this is by the decree of the All-Powerful Sovereign.

We welcome likewise a new year. Every individual must look at their level of reflection and gratitude so they may obtain their provision from these days and nights. Amongst the meanings of reflection is removing the veils from the spirit to remember the original covenant which it took with its Lord and clearing away the dust to extend its gaze to its eventual destination. As for gratitude, everything which is of any benefit to creation comes into its sphere.

The Master of Creation said,
Allah bless him and grant him peace, “Should I not be a grateful slave?” He is the most grateful of creation to the Creator, and through his gratitude we show gratitude to the Creator. May Allah bind us to him in this life and the next.

It is He Who made the Night and the Day to follow each other: for the one who wishes to reflect or to show gratitude. What are the signs and the attributes of the people of reflection and gratitude? Read the eleven attributes that follow this verse, beginning with: The slaves of the Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!" (They are) those who spend the night in worship of their Lord prostrate and standing.[3]

Reflect upon these attributes and ask yourself what portion you have of them. Do not be content merely to pass over them superficially. Delve into them deeply, hold firm to them and embody their meanings. Each of these attributes has a residing place in your inner being. If each attribute finds its place you will, in your inner being, be one of the slaves of the Most Gracious and every day and night you will increase in reflection and gratitude, and He will prepare you for an indescribable reward. “I have prepared for my righteous slaves that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and what no man can imagine.”

The majority of the people of Islam and Iman have made no preparation for the vision of the face of the Best of Mankind, accompanying him on the day of Crowding and then in Dar al-Salam, the Abode of Peace. Does this warrant you giving anything less than your all? How much have you put towards this: of your thoughts, your actions, the attributes of your heart, of the hours of your day and night?

After the death of the Messenger of Allah,
Allah bless him and grant him peace, Sayyiduna al-Siddiq would spend his nights crying out of his longing for him. Do we allow the ups and downs of this fleeting life and the desires of our enemies to tear these feelings away from us? Will you exchange the better for the worse?

All you who believe, accompanying him is greater than anything we can imagine. There is no gift more exquisite that the Lord of the Throne may bless you with than his companionship and the vision of his face and addressing the possessor of that face. He is a man like no other, the Beloved of the Creator.

If these feelings were alive in the hearts of the Ummah all causes of evil inward and outward would be blocked and the Ummah would be safe from every tribulation. The level of tribulation in which we find ourselves is according to our deficiency in our love for Allah and His Chosen One, Allah bless him and grant him peace.

At the end of this year may Allah grant us the ability to please His Beloved through seeking to improve our states and our transactions and what takes places in our houses and what is in our hearts. Nothing should be more beloved to us than Allah and nothing in creation, not even Paradise, should be more beloved to us than Muhammad. No created thing can take precedence over Muhammad, because Allah Himself gave him precedence over all of creation.

For this reason the Companion Salama ibn Rabi`a could think of nothing better to ask from the Messenger of Allah than his companionship in Paradise. The response of the Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, was to order him to make abundant prostration. The closest a slave is to Allah is when he is in prostration. If you desire to be close to the one who is closest to Allah make abundant prostration. One of the meanings of this prostration is to rid our houses of anything which is contravenes his Sunnah.

Let this Hijri year finish and with it any contravention of the Sunna. This is prostration. You want to accompany him but you do not want to live in accordance with his teaching? Let this year finish and you are in a state of preparation to meet the best of Allah’s slaves,
Allah bless him and grant him peace.

Panah Syaitan

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim
Allahumma solli 'ala sayyidina Muhammad wa 'ala alihi

The following question was asked at one of the Red Sulfur lessons a couple of weeks back.

A male university student complained about the mixing of men and women in the university and the negative effects it has. He asked some advice from Sayyidi al-Habib Umar on his weekly internet lesson.

This is a summary of Habib’s answer to the brother’s question. His answer deals with the brother’s situation in particular but both men and women can apply it to their own situation.

Habib Umar said that this is a common complaint. The fact that it is common, however, is not an excuse for believers to make light of the issue. The one who is sincere with Allah in dealing with this issue is considered someone that strives in the way of Allah. The believer must first lower his gaze and not allow it to become fixed upon that which is unlawful. He will then taste the sweetness of faith (as is narrated in the hadith).

He must concentrate on strengthening the realities of faith in his heart and reject completely the base desires of the lower self, in awareness of Allah’s saying: He knows the treachery of the eyes and that which the hearts conceal. He must hate to see acts of disobedience to Allah and must wish to change the situation if he were able to do so. If the opportunity arises he must give good advice if it is likely to be accepted.

Many women, both Muslim and non-Muslim have been deceived into thinking that for them to expose their bodies is an expression of their freedom. This is not progress as people claim but rather a return to the pre-Islamic days of ignorance. As Allah says Do not show off your beauty in public, as was done in the times of ignorance.

For protection from falling into disobedience a believer should read the following Prophetic supplication 19 times before entering a place where disobedience is likely to occur:

In the name of Allah, O Allah, the Most Merciful, the Compassionate. O Living! O Sustainer! I call upon Your Mercy for assistance, and from Your chastisement I seek refuge! Make good all my affairs and do not entrust me to myself or any of Your creation for the blink of an eye.[1]

He should also repeat this supplication if any bad thoughts come to mind. The one who is sincere will be assisted by Allah. Even if he is in a place where the curse of Allah is descending, only mercy will descend upon him. However if he is content for Allah to be disobeyed or worse takes part in it he will expose himself to the wrath of Allah, may Allah protect us from that!

Rahsia Antara engkau dan Dia

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim.
Allahumma sollu 'ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa 'ala alihi.

Firman Allah ta'ala:

Sabda Rasulullah sollahu 'alahi wasallam:

Kata Al-Habib Umar Ibn Hafidz:

'Dipamerkan kepadaku amalan ummatku, kebaikannya dan kejahatannya...'
~Riwayat Imam Muslim.

Cuba bayangkan 'Apa perasaan Rasulullah apabila Rasulullah lihat amalan kita itu???

Tergamakkah kita menyedihkan hatinya???'

Dia Mahu...Kita Mahu....

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Rahim.
Allahumma solli 'ala sayyidina Muhammad wa 'ala alihi.

Sabda Rasulullah sollahu 'alahi wa sallam:

Kita tahu diri kita masing-masing.Jika kita ini seorang yang doanya terus dikabulkan tanpa hijab, maka, bolehlah kita berbuat sebegitu tapi masalahnya kita tahukan diri kita siapa.Jadi...Jangan suka buat istikharah last minit!!!

Ajib doa Rasulullah.Penuh dengan rahsia!

'...hari-hari buat istikharah tapi takde pun jawapan'

Dari ِ

Dan bermesyuaratlah dengan mereka dalam urusan keduniaan.
~Al-Imran:159.

Sheikh Yusri pernah berpesan kepada kami:

Power Solat Jemaah!

*LAST UPDATE on 20/9/10!

Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Rahim
Allahumma solli 'ala Sayyidina Muhammad....

Sabda Rasulullah sollahu 'alaihi wa sallam:

An-Nazi'at:40-41

Ya Allah,Tundukkan nafsu kami mengikut syariat yang Rasulullah bawa....
